I’m a habitual wanderer and, by any reasonable standard, rather too fond of trains, castles and museums. Japan is my particular weakness: I’ve visited 32 times, made it to all 47 prefectures, and still haven’t quite managed to get it out of my system. It is, in fact, something of a safe place for me, which may go some way towards explaining the repeated visits. I process reality in an idiosyncratic fashion and consequently tend to notice rather more than is strictly necessary, particularly when it comes to railway timetables, obscure historical details and slightly odd corners of museums. This blog is where I put those observations to some use, and occasionally inflict them upon the unsuspecting reader.
